Actually, you could do two things. One, restart with the same seed, so you know how to get stuff fast. Two, you could start another character, ramp him up quickly and then use him to kill it.

Technically there's a third option. Go back in and use some creative stealth to sneak away from your base. Make a new one, rebuild yer stuff and re-invade later...
