Bummer. I lost my first pair of two star boars to a skeleton raid.

Wolves and boars can defend themselves in large enough numbers, but not if they are too closely confined to help one-another, as in a mass-feeding operation. (I've seen set-ups where boars would be helpless. In that case, their confinement must be everything-proof.)

You can put tamed wolves and boars together in the same open enclosure and they will defend one another. That enclosure can be the dry moat that surrounds your base, made a little wider than normal. (Remember to orient the quadrangle NSEW to get smooth sides, like I didn't. I'm claiming it's a style.) Level the floor and seed grass. Grow feed vegetables in the enclosure and just pull them up and leave them when they are ready.

Two star wolves and boars are worth the extra time and trouble.
