It took many hours, but now there are 2 trophies sitting in my base. My only advice would be to persevere and remind yourself that it may take a while, but at least you'll be able to make lots of windows when all's said and done!

I wouldn't compare golems with draugr elites. Draugr elites are more common. You will bump into a few Elites in every sunken crypt. Also you can camp at their spawn point and wait for them all day long. Stone golems are very rare. You have to explore the whole mountain to find a few, and then wait for 5 ingame days for them to respawn.
I have been hunting them for trophies for a long time. Now i have 5 trophies and i killed more then 200 golems.
On the other hand, my friend got 2 trophies from 4 golems.... so i would say that you need a lot of luck too :)
