1. Don't build your house in such a way as to allow mobs to get on it.

2. Shaman have a POISON attack which is Area Of Effect not LOS-dependent.

3. Most mobs don't need LOS to know where you are... My guess is that it is to prevent people from using their buildings to "hide" in, to avoid battles, especially during raid events.
