What I was responding to was the person I quoted saying they had only a couple of tiles on a floor not taking damage. I am suggesting a tree limb may be providing cover on those spots.

But in terms of the overhang thing... I have had to do that but it was due to walls not being aligned perfectly and it was not snapped into the wall properly... it was still over it but the game did not see it as "covered". So there are situations where it is needed. Unless you want to rip out half your base or something. Situations dictate solutions. No need to have a cow over it.

So basically this has nothing to do with the roof, but misaligning your walls.
