Yep, because for starters I know how to look up links to roadmaps. That tells you exactly what the developers have done and will do before release.

First off you forget expenses, for example how much of a cut Steam gets. Then of course you got all sorts of other expenses like lawyers and distribution, production, and do not forget about 25-30% to taxes.

So even if the developers got a million each that aint enough to quit their job over. You realize most of the people who won a million in a lottery wound up right back at works a few years later.

Now if these developers were in their early 30s they would be even bigger idiots quitting their normal careers over a flash in the pan income. Income form the sales of this game is not a guaranteed thing for the rest of their life.
