The vertical hitbox issue is probably my number one complaint with the game.

I've found that one of the benefits of being a spear-chucker is it allows me to (mostly) overcome the vertical attack issue, plus it does tons of damage after a parry; at least until the spear mysteriously launches through the opponent instead of hitting them, or you miss and launch it off the mountain top...
