Wait... um dont you need the wishing bone to really accomplish much in the mountains? Obsidian doesnt really do much other than better arrows for the most part.

Ah, did you use the dirty Sledge-detection technique? :-)

Not really just look for a flattish area with a golem nearby. There will always be silver there most of the time.
