Root armor was not hard for me to get even pre-iron, considering that Abominations go down quick if you just walk them over to a geyser. It does take some guts, though.

(that said, I still suffered the traditional swamp multi-death after getting cocky on a draugr spawner, so I'm not going to pretend I'm an ace swamp runner)
