@op Yes there needs to be Tick boxes to set your server up with options to stop cheats.
This would require a vast anticheat system implemented that would cost more money then they made of selling the game and guess what? it wouldn't stop the cheaters at all since cheats can literally be implemented on kernel levels. Look at GTA, Diablo series, and all those other games. Those are online only and what not and yeah just a mess. lol. Even in those FPS shooter games that are online only there are "Scripts" that they run to cheat. Those are even easier to make than the mods they have now for people to cheat. So lets think about what we wish for.
It's even worse.
The ability to console-command one's self into unearned glory is built into the game itself, and then its ecosystem. Why should anyone run and maintain an open Valheim server that allows anyone and their dog who watched some youtube video about how to maximize their character -- without earning it -- to run amok on the generated landscape?
What incentive is there at all for people to host servers except for private groups of less than 10 concurrent users who they, by a best guess, won't upset the balance of their server too much? Is there a plan to make this insanely fun game more approachable to the casual multiplayer player? Is there a plan to sort the chaff from the wheat when selecting multiplayer servers?
