I doubt the devs original intent was to build breeding factories.

I imagine they figured people would build a pen and throw some food in.

That said , I think the number of animals in a given area will now place a restriction on breeding.

Someone will probably figure out a way to make a chute that slides the babies a few hundred meters away so that they can circumvent this though.
