It's a little hard for me to describe, but try building a 4x4 structure and have 2 regular shingles in the middle sections all around and use the corner pieces in the four corners. It takes practice, at least it did for me. I hope that helps.

Yeah I have been using A frame so far. When I say L it is barely an L The section sticking out is like 10-15 floors long when the longest point is 15-20. This is kind of why it is a problem as it is practically a 20x20 box and even with the shorter roof parts the roof will still end up almost as tall as the structure itself.
