It just doesn't seem as if the devs would have play tested this very much as it is one of the worst spawning systems I've ever come across in a survival game and I've played a lot.

The near by black forest doesn't have any spawns in it and this is happening in the day, not night time.

It should definitely be spawning a lot less then if that's any consolation. They are very annoying. But during daytime even in the black forest you should be getting far less spawns, if they're all destroyed.

Also do you use a bed to sleep? Sleeping with respawn most things so i never sleep and build a few workbenches around my base to keep them from annoying me at night.

Alternatively look up a youtube video of how to build a moat on water.
