I think I fixed it, I had to rearrange the iron supports in the picture, add a another ring of them closer to the middle, and knock a layer of bricks off the dome, but it seems to be holding now. Fingers crossed.

Sadly no, the whole dome structure completely collapsed, the pic I got was from right before the whole thing fell. Also no, I hadn't been doing any terrain manipulation before this.

Seems weird that it would take so long for it to calculate, it stood for about 3 in-game days before anything started to break, and that was after the rain started falling. Only thing I was doing before the rain started was attaching some supports to the outer walls for decoration.
