I agree. Latency is a big problem for me. It's a big part of why I would not want to play an adversarial game. If I'm at a base with other players present, I can barely move. I'm skeptical. Latency would be a barrier, if you have a low latency connection to the server you could reliably dodge/parry/etc; if not, you won't be able to with any reliability. Biggest problem though is that the game isn't designed for it. Good PvP games are designed with PvP as a major consideration before the first line of code is written.
I think everyone realizes that the game isn't designed to be played this way and problems would quickly arise, but it could be done. Too much would have to rely on players not cheating, but when up against a wall people will do whatever they can to survive. If you're about to get your ass handed to you and lose all your stuff you worked so hard and long for, can you honestly say you could resist the temptation to just log out?
Again, I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to setup and play such a game. How was it done? How did it go? Did it work. Was it FUN?
