Not rng only but also your behaviour towards the creatures.
If you leave them alone as far as possible, you won't get raided that often.

The more creatures you kill, the further your progress is, the higher the chances of triggering a raid are.

I finally had the boar/neck raid on Day 56, or so. I was really looking forward to the free meat and hide being delivered, but missed out. On the next level of raids, atm, and have had two Greydwarf raids within 20 in-game days. Seems a lot less frequent since I came back to the game.
