It's not as if external sites like Nexus and thunderstore do no checking on the mods for viruses and malware and the like. I mean, You do you- Don't do external sites if you don't want to.

But at the same time, Don't go around acting like they're vile cesspools full of filth and trojans. Else, you might want to just disconnect from the internet entirely since most places have far less protection from those problematic elements than mod repositories like Nexus/Thunderstore.
