I don't understand why people think seed hopping is cheating when the game is literally built to work that way. The game is a multiverse and you might as well make use of it (or not) - it's not "most assuredly cheating".
I'm building a hub world to house my main base and will share that across the few characters I explore with. It's a great way to separate the base building and adventuring without all the time spent running back and forth, especially when carry weight is so limited. Collecting ore is a nightmare if you have to run home constantly to store everything.
It's no different than playing online with friends in a shared world and jumping back and forth between that and your private solo world.
