Really all weapons have their use cases. That said, you need an axe and you need a mace. You also need a bow. Everything else is technically not needed, but some people swear on the atgeir (I'm... one of them). Very good pierce damage, which is good against trolls. Very good crowd control (secondary spin attack), which will stagger everything (but bosses?) in this game.

So... a good axe, a good mace, a good bow, an atgeir to rule them all.

But that's like, you know, just my opinion, man. ;)

Daggers are really good as well... Ok, ok, I stop.
