There is a mod (Valheim Plus) that allows one to transport ore & ingots through portals. I only downloaded and used it after I had finished the content up to this point. Using my longship to transport ore had simply become a timesink. My son, who is deadset against mods, gave leeway on this because the game already allows one to transport ore by taking it in one's inventory to another server then transferring back, circumventing the longship only prohibition. I was also allowed to adjust the light levels so evening was not so dark, because I am old and the lower light levels were too much of a strain on my eyes. As you can see from my avatar I have poor vision & a stigmatism

As is common in popular games of this genre, if there's something you don't like or would like to see changed, don't worry, "there's a mod for that".
