You don't really even need to cheese the Yagluth battle. The only preparatory measures I typically take are clearing out any nearby villages and groups of lox, and planting workbenches in them and on any other obvious spawn points. Makes for a nice peaceful one-on-one with the fuling god. Make sure it's morning, you're well-rested, well-fed, hit the fire resist potion, have some stamina and health potions ready just in case, and make the sacrifice. Silver sword and tower shield, and I didn't even need to use a power, just hacked him down. The other advice about frost arrows, especially if you are part of a group, is great. Just shell him from range, and switch off whoever is the damage sponge if someone starts to get unduly beat up.
