I can only think that spending a fair bit of time in your base is letting Trolls respawn again, so if you killed local trolls and then mined you should have no interruptions except GD;s etc. for a reasonable time... But this game encourages you to level up gear at every opportunity. but that said my main base in in meadows adjacent to a lot of BF,
