I think you would, too, but it's possible you're missing it depending on where you kill the boars. Physics apply, things roll downhill or sink in deeper water. I have a lot of hours in the game and I've occasionally missed item drops that I end up finding later.

I think it's most likely just the drop rate. I've had boars, and neck, not drop meat and tails fairly often even though the drop rates are fairly high for both.
