Well few things here.

First... the game is in Early Release. That means you are in what is essentially development Beta (barely that) while the game is being developed. The EA price is often basically a Pre-Purchase. As such one should not expect the UI, Mechanics, Balancing, and Crafting mats to be the same as the development goes on as they are at the beginning for EA.

That isn't the cop out it is EA deal with it... but the actual purpose of EA. The problem with Valheim is it was in a really decent condition at launch and so it feels like it is further in it's development than it is. When EA started the Game was likely 18 months to 2 years from release.

Second. The Game has a day night cycle of 18 minutes of day 9 minutes of night. 1 minute represents 53 minutes give or take. So if it is 30 seconds.. cook bread, leave it in the oven for 25 minutes longer than it needs see what it will look like. Do they go over board a bit on certain things? yes. Is the game released and can things still change? yes.

It feels as though you don't understand what you purchased with an Early Access game like this that is taking full advantage of it's EA status to develop the game.
