Don't go running into the plains without a plan.

Don't go running around at night.

Don't charge into a gob village.. shoot in and draw them out.

Set up an area close by you can retreat to if needed. Use large rocks to defend on.. even trench an area. You shouldn't normally see two stars unless at night. Always be ready to retreat never overextend yourself when an area hasn't been cleared.

Spear guys are nasty basically should be treated like two star drauger archers.

Frost arrows are your friend ...the cold proc slows them down
