If you're not putting them in chests and do not have a Player Base structure (like a campfire) in the crypt, yes. They have a despawn timer of 3600 seconds (1hr). This isn't a new addition; it's been like that forever.

If you had a fire on that step near the door, they should not despawn. If you didn't, they will despawn.
