I never tamed wolves myself but i've seen videos of people using them for "auto" (afk) farms for spawners.. that said i'm using stone hearths myself for that and it works just as good.
Other than that I wonder how good Wolves go up against plains mobs, even if you have a horde of them. If someone can tell me if it's worth it then I might consider taming them.

As for Boar taming it's pointless considering how quickly they respawn in meadows and at some point (late and post iron age) you don't need their resources anymore anyway.

I gotta disagree. you can produce stacks of meat faster then you can hunt them wild, and still get other things done in the same time window. If you want to manually farm I'd hit Draugr villages, get the entrails, add thistle and make sausages. Those will carry you for the rest of the game (currently) honestly, i use sausage, onion and turnip soups in plains all the time.
