That being said I only ever found two caves before I finished up all of my stuff in the mountains

It was a big cave. At the bottom of one of two sets of steps down was a room with a stone golem. It was down there with him.

Only found a cave like that the one time. I was actually really surprised when I saw it sitting there tbh.
