Ive been doing a new playthrough really pushing with the troll armor. Trying to play light and fast and not get hit. Died a couple times more than I did with heavier armor, but there would be no point if there weren't consequences. Chopped up a couple squitos and even a minor Fuling or two in the plains, haven't tried to melee a golem in the mountains yet, probably just stupid but Ill give it a try when I've got the silver shield upgraded..

I used to suit all up with old gear for my corpse run. Lately I just eat some good food and streak to the grave with Eikthyr power up. Seems to work pretty good.

It's amazing how much experience in this game makes a difference. I've been doing a no-boss run as my second and to minimize farming time i decided to roll with Troll armor and very basic equip (flint spear, a club for blobs, finewood bow) until I got enough silver to get the "final" set (since blackmetal is gated) and i died "only" twice due to bad awareness (drake hit me with all the balls without frost resistance) and poor execution (got squashed by a lox after not healing from a first hit).
And i absolutely respect the fact that it's personal experience, not the character's skill levels, that play into it.
