Considering the craziness Flare mentioned, be extremely careful about mods that have balancing implications.

A good example would be EpicLoot which is a fairly popular enchanted items and item drops mod that is quite amazing but the initial configuration is just completely nonsensical and makes legendary items drop like candy at some point. So you should be willing to do some tweaking and configuring to your tastes for things that are more complex.
