I didn't enjoy it very much at first, but after learning to deal with mobs and what equipment works best, and properly balancing stamina and health with good food, it's alright. Limited visibility and steep and sudden elevation differences make for a pretty unique experience in the game, one that likely won't repeat (far north is probably going to involve plenty of jumping too though).

You can craft some additional equipment that makes surviving in mistlands easier, besides just the wisplight. One existing item is the root harnesk, the others you will unlock by exploring and discovering secrets in the mists.
