If this was a "bug fix", why wasn't it "fixed" long ago? Such as when they adjusted the comfort from chairs many patches ago? This ignores the enormous effort required to get the materials required for each of the rugs --- multiple biomes mastered, challenging creatures slain, equipment and skills laboriously updated to be able to meet those challenges. Getting those rugs is the culmination of many hours of hard work. The comfort is the reward for all that work. To have it taken away says that your effort was all wasted, so why bother? It's a slap in the face.

This is just my opinion so take it for what it's worth. I don't really believe that the rug comfort stacking was a "unintentional". It makes no sense that the original intent was to negate the effect of all rugs beyond the deer rug. I think they just realized late in development that any additional comfort items added to the game would have no purpose due to the constraints imposed by the length of the day. The design of the comfort mechanic puts a hard cap on the number of "useful" comfort items you can have.

That's why I think that adding another bonus (like additional points in the stamina pool) to the system is the best option. It would free them from the time constraint and hard cap created by the current system.
