You shouldn't be dying much. Valheim rewards caution and preparation, death is easily avoidable. Your mentality at all times should be to treat the game like Permadeath.
I've died 3 times in nearly 200 hours, all by doing something reckless that could of been easily avoided.
Skill loss is the only real punishment for dying, as corpse runs hardly matter as shown by countless players who will die 20 times in a row trying to get their gear back because they don't realize skill loss is a thing. It's also easy enough to set up a travel portal anywhere you go further trivializing corpse runs.
