Easier when you import a toon.. because you have higher skills with an imported character, and higher damage & armor if you import gear.

Also, your tech is all unlocked, so you really don't have to go and unlock anything. Importing a toon is like, for a new world where you want to build a cool base so you don't have annoying raids. Rather pointless to mash through the boss fights again, because that just creates more raids while giving you no new technology (Moder is still a roadblock for black iron of course).

That just leaves the mystery of exploration and voyage. If you really enjoy exploring the fog of war on the map, but want the security of having a powerful veteran character, that can be fun too.

No lie, I once rode a sea serpent. Jumped on its head, and away we went. My point in telling you this is because there are many adventures and experiences waiting to happen. The world doesn't change what you can do in it.

Anyway, I like to start with a new toon if I am going for a fresh boss progression. Another option could be to make a new toon on an old world, and see if you can survive the raids!
