Remember how this is an early access game? Not yet finished (obviously), and just like every other biome, Im fairly confident that each new biome added is going to have new recipes (food and gear), including new mine-able, resources, etc.

You ask for more variety of weapons... well, there will be more variety by the time they add the next 4 new biomes.
