I have mostly played solo until recently and lag was never a big problem. Now I;m on a server with a couple of others and at the big bases the lag is intolerable just as you say, but it isn't bad for the others. It is very hard to move the cursor where I want it and doors/chests open/close about three seconds after I hit the button. I chalk it up to my sub-par graphics card.
