but that's not how energy and hunger works in real life, the way the game is set up now simulates real life ration care taking way better than a generic lazy setup of simulation.

It is also not real life that eating dinner allows me to survive getting smashed by a tree trunk from a creature that's 15 feet tall.

The higher tier foods degrade so quickly that by the time you regen health, the max has already decreased.
