I think I was concerned about posts I'd seen about his poison damage, so I overprepared. Took some of the fun out.

Honestly the poison doesn't do anything if you take a poison resistance potion. Only lasts for 5 seconds instead of 15 and it seems to do less than half damage per tick. If you have good food you can pretty much passively out-heal it.
