Those things are indeed mostly useless, but make sure you keep a stack or two of Dandelions, Resin, and Bones. Resin is used for boats and refueling torches, dandelions for minor healing potions, and maybe some midsommer stuff. and you will need bones again for some mistland-era crafting if you haven't gotten that far yet.
