I've played solo for hundreds of hours. I have other games, I think. Yes, I seem to remember buying some games, and a terabyte SSD to hold them all.

My budget gaming laptop doesn't have access panels. You have to remove eleventy-seven screws in eight different sizes and then pry it open like a tablet PC, inserting guitar picks, praying and cursing and holding your breath as you go. But that's not near as much fun as disconnecting the battery.

I forgot to put a towel on the table.*

If I had known that games like Valheim existed, I would have just bought a backup drive. One gigabyte. One. I should hate them.

You can totally play this game solo. You should still buy other games that are on sale, but don't pass up Valheim if it has any appeal for you. Just beware that your other games might languish a while.


*I listened to the BBC radio series of Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, read all the books, watched the BBC television series, watched the movie and played the Infocom game. I have no excuse.
