it's not about ease, it's about convenience. for those who WANT to use cheats, it's likely they're playing for either the creative construction aspects, or are sick of being harassed by enemies while trying to mine copper at the closest point they can, which is across MANY DEEP CHASMS. If you use ghost cheat, you want to avoid being assaulted by enemies. that should apply to using carts too.
