Yeah... ran into my first one in troll armor. I have a wooden club. Bronze ax and bronze pickax. Took care of the drauger and skels fairly easily found a crypt and this big guy comes up out of the ground. Saw my weapons doing crap and just ran away.

Not sure what they are hostile to though.
I got on a raised platform it would have had to cross water into another biome to get on? It just seemed to run away, think it was attacking other swamp things? Anyone know what biome it is friendly to or was it looking for a mate or something? Odd behavior.

Not really ready for the swamp just got my carrots going but was trying to find turnips... this is going to make it much more difficult.. guess I'll need a bronze sword now, normally don't even make swords. Guess that is what this enemy is for then.
