You could run a Unity engine (graphic) optimizer with BepInEx. It allows to tweak with more parameters than the in-game configuration options. Some might help you perhaps, either to alleviate your issue or to embellish the game, but I can't help more.

Though, iirc, one of parameters of interest is the number of cast rays used in the computation of cover, collisions, etc.
