For now I just spawned in the iron scrap oh well I just think the devs should allow items to land on a ships surface uh hmm!

He he, I was just trying to figure out how you wasted that much time on so little ore, the only logical thing I could think of was that you didn't know about larger craft with storage since 140 isn't much even for a karve.

Pro tip-
Ships will anchor position if you jump off them. <and no one else is on it>
So run ship aground and jump off it.
From shore you can reach in and get to storage, do not jump back in boat, that will break it free.
Also just logging out and back in will restore your stamina.
