It's the adventures you can do with friends for me. When my friends and I first started playing sea shanty's where trending at the time and we had a blast building a raft sailing out into the ocean listening to wellerman and other songs while singing into the mics and then going to new lands scrambling to get a footing at the edge of it so we can survive the night and having different kinds of bases. We had a wicked base with a boat launch resource bases near water and more dangerous areas so we can get them back to our base and just randomly exploring crips with your friends then running for your life while you accidentally wander into a area your not prepared for or finding yourself wildly out number at night. Its a game I personally only play when friends are online because personally I like random adventures but some of my friends prefer staying at the base and building and grinding out resources and taking what he bring back and making stuff for us good for both types of players
