You can, but does not mean you will. I cleared up through Yagluth last world and I got only 2-3 troll raids. Even then all you do is run out and away from your base.

Also trolls in any biome other than meadows and forest would fight the local mobs.

If you've got local mobs in any other biomes, they'll be attacking your base, so it'd be a bit of an issue if you're just ignoring them. Unless it's just leeches in your swamphome.

But the guy I was replying to said "you only get troll raids for a while," indicating that they end. They don't.
