It's a good idea to swallow the base building pill and build a picket fence across your entire land. Enemies won't aggro the wall until they smell a nearby player, so a big wall can keep enemy spawns away. Walls become even more important for protecting farm areas and animal stables. It's worth a few hundred wood to set up.
