I recently decided to go sword & board (well.. mace) for the Swamps, and boooy is parrying great.

Parrying Trolls and smashing them to death with a mace is amazing.

Not sure I can parry the ones using a tree as a weapon, though. (which would honestly make sense if you can't)

you can parry them. you can parry golems up in the mountains as well (though their timing is rather tricky)
