Pick axed a few when i noticed that and now i never plant fir for wood. The Battleaxe can reach lower i think but its less effective then the Blackmetal axe. The Battleaxe gives the Elder buff a purpose tho since with good enough skill you only need one hit to fell normal trees with the blackmetal one.
