This isn't a QOL suggestion, it's a "make the game 'easier' for me" suggestion. They not only gave you a way of destroying items, but it generates coal as well. I was happy with having to take trash out to sea and dump it in the ocean, but having a gift from the gods works too.

Removing annoying mechanics that don’t contribute to the core gameplay loop is definitely considered QOL. Not sure why you think they shouldn’t add it

You want to destroy stuff on the move. Just throw it on the ground there really isn't anything else needed. Why do you need something to clear you inventory, when you can already clear your inventory.
